Cecilia Grierson was the first woman to earn a Medical Degree in Argentina, where she struggled to study medicine during a time when women were barred from medical school. Cecilia was a pioneer in kinesiology, the study of human movement, and graduated with a thesis on gynecology. After earning her degree, Cecilia worked with special needs children and founded the first nursing school in Argentina. Cecilia also assisted with the first c-section in Argentina. During her career, Cecilia mentored women, helped the less fortunate, and founded many organizations. Cecilia was a women’s rights activist in Argentina and was well known for her activism.
