#WCW with Luz Rivas
Luz Rivas is the founder and executive director of DIY Girls, an organization that encourages girls interested in technology and engineering. DIY Girls provides innovative educational experiences and mentor relationships for hundreds of girls in order to help them succeed in STEM!
After graduating from MIT, Luz wanted to help girls like her. In order to help out other Latinas gain experience in tech, Luz went back to her Los Angeles community and began exploring new techniques and working with materials and technology she hadn’t been able to experience herself!
Luz hopes to continue to encourage more young girls to explore tech and STEM fields, especially those who may worry that there aren’t many like them in science.
